About the Awards

Our industry is built on many creative and energetic individuals and companies. Each year, the Newfoundland and Labrador Branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum invite nominations for annual awards in the categories of:
- Developer/Miner
- Prospector/Explorer
- Service Provider
- Geoscientist
- Environment
- Social Responsibility.
Awards will be announced ahead of the Mineral Resources Review 2025 and presented at the show.
Mineral Resources Review 2025
Mineral Resources Review 2025 will be held from November 4th to 7th, 2025, at the Delta Hotel in St. John’s, NL. The Newfoundland and Labrador mining sector has been garnering global interest and investments, propelling the undeniable growth of Mineral Resources Review.
We eagerly anticipate your presence among the expected 1000 delegates and 100+ exhibitors at Atlantic Canada’s largest conference of its kind – an event that stands at the forefront of the nation’s mining and mineral exploration scene. Nomination Categories
Awards will be presented for recent achievements. Nominations will be valid for two years.
Developer/Miner
The Award is presented to a company, team or an individual that has made significant progress in advancing a mine or mine expansion toward production, or for innovation in the Newfoundland and Labrador mining industry.
Prospector/Explorer
The Award is presented to a prospector, exploration team, or company that has made a recent and significant mineral discovery; or significantly enhanced a prospect or deposit; or identified a previously unrecognized prospective geological environment in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Service Provider
The Award is presented to a service provider or team that, through development and innovation of the services it provides, has significantly contributed to more efficient or effective exploration, or commitment to community or improvements in mining operations in the province.
Geoscientist
The Award is presented to a geoscientist or team whose work in the province is in use and has contributed significantly to either: improved regional or detailed exploration models or techniques; a new mineral discovery; or a significant expansion to a known ore body in the province.
Environment
The Award is presented to a member, team or company within the mining community that has demonstrated a significant commitment or leadership in in protecting and preserving the environment.
Social Responsibility
The Award is presented to a member, team, or company within the mining community with demonstrated positive and impactful Rightsholder and Stakeholder relations.
